• Rumours are spread around that people suffer from acne are dirty and they don’t wash face. No doubt that many skin infections are mainly due to poor hygiene but acne does not work that way. In fact, the oil mixed with dead skin cells under the skins surface are the major causes of acne breakouts. It would be impossible by just cleaning your skin to cure acne, you can’t wash underneath the skin.

• Some said eating chocolate causes acne yet there is no evidence in researches to proof the matter, however foods high in iodine and some diary product have shown effects on acne though

• Many people are in the belief in that acne only affects your skin. Research suggests that it affects you psychological more than anything else. It is a fact that many long term acne suffers also suffer from a soem form of psychological distress especially for those teenager and young adults. Acne is known to make people feel worthless, damage their confidence, make them feel depressed and to some extend, hopeless.

• Something that is unavoidable when it happend. The fact that causes more damage than anything else is that you must grow out of acne. Teenager and young adults whose hormones may balance as you pass puberty but it will not remove the harmed skin and emotional scars left by acne skin on their face.  Many dermatologists have many treatments for acne skin. You could even go to the local drug store and pick up an effective acne treatment remedy. Nobody needs to live with this horrible problem such as acne on their face.

Acne myth 6

• The other myth that’s been around is that sunbathing is good for acne treatment. Which by the way may be half true, the sun will dry up your oils, but as soon as your skin adapts it will over produce oil. So maybe this is a very short term method but not able to sustain its effect. The side effect with the sun that researchers believe is the fact that it increases your risk of skin cancer.

In conclusion, if you have a acute acne problem especially on your face,  I suggest that you read enough from various source and apply something that do not ahve any side effect example: form, a habit to have face wash, keep skin clean and watchful on food consumption. Skin acne, is a problem skin specially for a teenager or young adults. When a person has skin acne, it leads to a shay behaviour and lack self conscious, trying desperately to fight the problem off.  Eventhough it happend to mostly with teenager and young adult, pimples and whiteheads can erupt with elderly people perhaps to their late thirties and early forties.

Do You Know What causes Acne?

While you may notice most acne cases happend to teenagers and young adoult, the reason skin acne occur may due to hormonal changes in the body. It may also happend with the use of certain drugs, like steroid, excessive use of make-up or oily cosmetic products, body condition and even stress.

In many cases, a typical cause is the clogging of the pores of the skin due to lack of cleaniness of ths skin. The skin has pores which open into what is called the follicle. The follicle contains oil glands and hair. The major function of the follicles is to produce enough lubrication to keep the skin moisturized.

It may happen that too much oil is produced by the gland. The pores become blocked, while the oil starts accumulating and attracting dirt, debris, grime and bacteria. If attention is not given, pore blockage can lead to the formation of white heads or blackheads.

Symptoms of Acne

Commonly, here are two kinds of skin acne – inflamed and non-inflamed. Both of them has their symptoms vary depending on the kind of affliction you have.

For Non-inflamed acne is rarely painful and is characterized by bumpiness of the skin. While the eruptions may not be visible on the surface but, the skin feels rough and has a slightly uneven texture. In most cases, typically, there are blackheads and whiteheads, which do not appear to be very serious.

On the other hand, inflamed acne, can be quite painful and the symptoms include redness, skin swelling, irritation on the skin,  and scabbing or oozing of the skin lesions. You need to be aware that this kind of acne requires more treatment and usually takes longer to disappear.

Medication for Acne

Although there are several over-the-counter treatments and medication available for the skin acne, you need to select carefully. Take note that the most popular ones are salicylic acid,  benzoyl peroxide, and sulphur creams and lotions. Either the cream or lotion type are applied on to the skin and work by killing the pimple causing bacteria, and drying the oil secreted by the skin.

After applied, if you find these measures to be ineffective, then you have no choice byt to consult a dermatologist. Normally, the dermatologist will be able to prescribe stronger and more relevant medication for you. Rarely, in severe cases, he may even suggest surgical treatment like draining or removing the cysts in your skin and scar removal by dermabrasion.

Acne Prevention

After learn about Acne, can you prevent skin acne? Unfortunately, not entirely. but there are available tips you can keep in mind to lessen acne occurrence. Some of the tips are as follows:-

1. By far the simplest, is to wash your face regularly in a day, at least two times, if possible, and more if you are involve in field job or dusty area.
2. To be on a saft side, use a face wash that are made especially to prevent the appearance of pimples. Keep it mind that it should not be too strong, or contain too many chemicals. You do not over wash as it causes the skin to dry up, leading to the production of more oil by the glands.
3. Wash your hair daily. Why? Hair touches the face may dirty the  face skin. So, tie it up in a way that it doesn’t fall on your face.
4. For some, if you wear make-up, it is advisable to remove it before you go to sleep. When selecting face skin product, avoid using very greasy products for your skin. Select a water based products instead.
5. To keep your face skin clean, avoid touching your face with dirty hands. Before you apply anything on your face, make sure that your hands are clean as well.
6. Be sure to protect your skin adequately before walking out into the harsh sun or intense heat.
